Taking Care of Business

It hasn't taken us long to get a good start on coloring book number 2. This journal entry from this winter is our launching inspiration. The Hippy Hole is a free BLM camp on the Arizona side of the Colorado River near the Cibola National Wildlife Refuge. It's beautiful, quiet (except for the Hippies!), and packed with wildlife. It was here we approved our proofs and got shipping notification all within a couple days for Maggie May Adventure Dog! And it was from here that we raced the UPS truck all the way to Tucson!

It's a special spot, no doubt! Equally special was our point of delivery in Tucson. Michelle Angel, the Gong Gypsy was taking the delivery at her place. she's delightful! Fellow nomad, she's a super psychedelic lover of all things nature. We have a blast together. 100 books! All those copies are gone already! Never fear! The next batch arrives in a couple days!

Book two starts on the banks of the Colorado then we make a diagonal west and north across the Carrizo Plain to the Central Coast near Morro Bay and Maggie's favorite beach to run on. We have the cover design as well! That's 4! next we'll hit the north coast and the redwoods. I'm thinking a trip in April.

In honor of Black History month (February), I joined my friend Sue and her mother Barbera in a felting project! The object was to make a broch representing quilt patterns used by slaves to find their way on the Underground Railroad. I was a stow-away and "observed" the lesson that night at the library but did not have the materials Sue had. Although slightly larger and my stitching being more than slightly out of practice, they came out great! Above all I loved getting my fiber fix on!
